MYANMAR Literature is a repository of historical records that bequeath art and social events of the nation and its people. It assumes the form of the soul of the country. It also serves as an essential and effective pivot of communication for the promotion of national interests. The progress and diminution of the interests of a nation depend much upon the literary standard of that nation.

WITH the imminent arrival of the matriculation examination, students are diligently gearing up for the pivotal event scheduled to take place from March 11 to March 19, 2024. Across the nation and in various international exam centres, students are fervently preparing for this significant academic milestone that holds the potential to shape their futures.

A CCORDING to one of the objectives of the Social Affairs of State Administration Council (SAC); “To elevate the Health and Sports sectors inclusive of all the people, improving the longevity and health of the nation”, the Ministry of Health, Myanmar, laid down the two objectives, to enable every citizen to attain full life expectancy and enjoy longevity of life, and to ensure that every citizen is free from diseases. To do that, the Ministry of Health is conducting super speciality medical care to the districts, states and regions.

AS the academic year draws to a close, basic education schools are gearing up for examinations across various levels. Primary, middle, and high school students have demonstrated their learning prowess and absorbed the knowledge imparted by their teachers through these assessments.

TAKING a long breath, the trader U Win Thein, who delivers commodities from Pathein to Yangon, said, “Usually the truck running on the delta region used to earn K20,000 per tonne of goods for a 100-mile-long journey. Now, the Myawady border route’s transport truck rate earns much more than the Delta routes. Therefore, most six-wheeled trucks that used to run in the Delta region are shifting to the Myawady route, resulting in difficulty transporting goods to Yangon.”

PRESENTLY, the annual consumption of palm oil in Myanmar stands at an estimated one million tonnes. Despite local farmers cultivating oil crops like groundnut, sesame, canola, and sunflower, the yearly production hovers around 400,000 tonnes. Consequently, the nation imports approximately 700,000 tonnes of palm oil, valued at US$600 million, annually from Malaysia and Indonesia to meet domestic demands.

​​​​​​​MYANMAR has taken a significant stride towards enhancing bilateral trade by introducing direct payment systems for various currencies. The yuan/kyat and baht/ kyat systems were previously established to bolster trade with China and Thailand, facilitating Myanmar’s business entities and government trade organizations to secure robust market shares in their relevant partner countries.

There is no doubt that today’s education has placed special emphasis on human dignity and values with the vision that conceives human beings as creators who are not limited to watching the established order only.
