A welcome ceremony was held yesterday afternoon at a local battalion in Mongnawng, southern Shan State, to honour Tatmadaw members returning after completing operational and security duties in the Homein area.

The event was attended by officials from the Eastern Central Command, departmental officials, teachers, officers, soldiers, family members and local ethnic residents, who welcomed the returning troops with traditional music, dance performances and twigs of Eugenia as a gesture of respect and celebration.

An official from the command also presented cash rewards to the returning personnel in recognition of their service.
