Observed every year on 1 May or the first Monday in May, it is a national public holiday in many countries, often named “International Workers’ Day” or something similar.

In a post that I read on social media, I noted that Anna did not like the 'mixing' of her name with Myanmar and English terms like 'Aunty Khin Khin Chaw' or 'Aunty Chaw'. She prefers to be called 'Ma Ma Chaw' or 'Daw (Daw) Khin Khin Chaw'. Henceforth, I will use either 'Anna' or 'Daw Khin Khin Chaw'.

With daily temperatures soaring based on extreme hotness in summer, the risk of heat-related illnesses such as heatwaves, hypertension, and heart attacks looms large. In addition, the proliferation of misinformation poses a challenge that must be navigated with caution and discernment, ensuring that no one is unduly agitated.

ON 27 March 2024, during the 219th meeting held in Paris, France, UNESCO’s Executive Board endorsed the addition of 18 sites to the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network. This brings the total number of global geoparks to 213 in 48 countries.

SUMMER in Myanmar brings dry and sweltering conditions, particularly during the period from March to May, which stands out as the hottest among the three seasons: monsoon, winter, and summer.
