PHASE III of the multiparty democratic general election was successfully held in 61 townships on 25 January 2026. Under Section 102 of the relevant Hluttaw Election Rules, candidates who contested in the respective constituencies are required to submit their election expenditures in Form 20 within 30 days from the date on which the relevant Region or State subcommissions announce the names of the elected Hluttaw representatives. The submission must be made to the relevant subcommissions where the nomination was originally submitted, or to the district subcommissions designated by the commission. If Hluttaw candidates who contested in the election and their election representatives fail to submit the election expenditures within the prescribed period, they will be declared disqualified under Rule 109 of the relevant Hluttaw Election Rules.
