THAILAND has extended the zero-tariff maize import period until 31 August, as Thailand’s stricter import regulations led to raw material shortages, according to the Myanmar Economic Counsellor to Bangkok, citing the Royal Thai Government.

FOR ordinary passport holders, the agreement between Myanmar and Belarus on mutual visa exemption will take into effect on 8 July. Under the agreement, citizens of the two countries can travel without visa requirement and a 30-day stay will be allowed in each travel.

Tatmadaw columns marching from Kalay conducted security measures on 29 June and found a suspected building about 2,000 metres from the northern part of Kyundaw Yeshin village. Therefore, the column strategically cleared the building, and armed engagements with the terrorist groups occurred. The column occupied their camps, and the terrorists retreated after suffering heavy casualties.

Ten Vietnamese nationals who illegally entered Myanmar through border routes via neighbouring countries, including Thailand, and were involved in illegal online gambling, telecom fraud and other criminal activities in the Myawady–Shwe Kokko area of Kayin State, were repatriated to Vietnam via the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge II in compliance with legal procedures, humanitarian principles and bilateral cooperation.

A special appeal tribunal consisting of the Union Chief Justic U Tha Htay of the Supreme Court of the Union of Myanmar, judges of the Supreme Court of the Union: U Thein Ko Ko, Dr Ko Ko Naing, U Win Myint and Daw Soe Khet Khet was convened yesterday morning at Zeyathiri District Court, and passed judgements for a total of five special appeal cases: two criminal cases: Nos 3/2026 (Taninthayi) and 4/2026 (Yangon), and three special civil appeal cases: Nos 9/2026 (Taninthayi), 16/2026 (Bago) and 17/2026 (Shan).
