To strengthen pharmaceutical cooperation between Myanmar and India, the Department Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Ministry of Health and the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) of the Government of India held a joint working group meeting for the second time from 27 to 29 July in New Delhi, India.

The event was attended by a Myanmar delegation led by FDA Director-General Dr Swe Sett, IPC Secretary-cum-Scientific Director Dr V Kalaiselvan, and officials from both sides.

The meeting focused on the IPC certification process, cooperation in developing pharmaceutical standards and specifications, technology exchange in laboratory-based pharmaceutical testing, capacity-building for skilled personnel, and strengthening pharmaceutical quality assurance and regulatory systems in line with international standards.

According to the FDA, the meeting was aimed at strengthening pharmaceutical cooperation between Myanmar and India, expanding public access to quality and safe medicines, and promoting collaboration in pharmaceutical technology, as well as the development of pharmaceutical standards and specifications.
