TATMADAW columns regained complete control of the main district of Shan State (North), Kyaukme, which was controlled by the TNLA terrorist group, on 1 October. Tatmadaw continued to march to Hsipaw, about 28 kilometres from Kyaukme, and conducted the preparations for the operation in a short period. Tatmadaw columns continued the counter-terrorism operations against TNLA terrorists beginning on 2 October 2025.

The government, Tatmadaw, and local communities have continued their coordinated efforts to reopen schools, ensuring the rapid resumption of education in Kyaukme Township of northern Shan State.Following the reopening of the No 1 Basic Education High School on 8 October, No 4 Basic Education High School and No 4 Basic Education Middle School on 15 October, the Naungpain Basic Education High School was reopened yesterday, bringing the total number of reopened schools in Kyaukme to four.

TNLA terrorists set fire to departmental buildings and civilian homes in Hsipaw Township. Tatmadaw has been conducting counter-terrorism operations to regain control of towns and villages temporarily occupied by TNLA, DPLA, and PDF terrorist groups. Tatmadaw successfully restored control over Nawnghkio on 16 July 2025 and Kyaukme on 1 October 2025, while the government, Tatmadaw, and local people continue joint efforts to rebuild and develop the areas.
