The day was marked by offerings of flowers, water, and oil lamps in memory of the Buddha, followed by evening ceremonies of lamp lighting that illuminated the entire city.

OR flood victims across various affected regions in Myanmar, 226.2 kilograms of Ceylon Tea were donated by Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath on 14 October at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Sri Lanka. The donation was received by Myanmar Ambassador to Sri Lanka Daw Marlar Than Htike, who also expressed her gratitude for the donation.
