State Administration Council Member Porel Aung Thein, accompanied by Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin and other officials, attended a ceremony to provide basic foodstuffs for the temporarily displaced people due to the terrorist attacks, in Loikaw on 28 July.
At the event, the SAC member and state chief minister talked about the public participation in security, stability and rule of law in the state, systematic accommodation, access to water, electricity, education, health, further assistance for agriculture, livestock and resuming of original vocational businesses.
They handed over the food to the displaced people. They also donated rice and offerings at the Kyaunghtine monastic training school.
At the Training School for Development of Nationalities Youth from Border Areas in Dawnokuu ward, they met staff and students, and the SAC member highlighted the establishment of a training school for the development of youths from border areas and the need to understand the goodwill of the government.
The SAC member and party presented cash prizes to the staff and students, and observed the training school compound.
They oversaw the traditional flagstaff hall, which was destroyed in a terrorist attack in Htaythama ward.
During the meeting with the Kyayhtoeboe board of trustees, they instructed to repair the main hall and other halls, and plan to organize traditional festivals.
Yesterday morning, the SAC member and party met the healthcare staff at the Loikaw 500-bed General Hospital meeting hall. They gave funds for a medical endowment and food for the staff. They also comforted the patients and gave them nutrients.
The SAC member and party met teachers and students of the Agricultural and Livestock School (Chikel) at the BEHS 2 in Loikaw, provided them with food, and inspected the school maintenance plans and the peaceful learning of students.
They also attended the food and cash donation ceremony for churches in Loikaw at the State Hall.
At noon, they met local farmers in Nwalawoe village and provided the farmers of monsoon paddy from Nwalawoe and Htiri villages with urea fertilizers.
They proceeded to the 33/11kV 5MVA Kayan Thaya power substation, which was seriously destroyed by terrorists, and inspected the maintenance work.
When the work is completed, electricity can be distributed to wards and villages in downtown areas of Loikaw, four urban wards, Loikaw industrial zone and Htiri, Kontha, Saungkan, Warikawkhu and Pikinkawkhu villages along the Loikaw-Moebye Road, and also to Moebye.
