A Myanmar delegation, led by Adjutant-General Lt-Gen Soe Min Oo from the office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), Lt-Gen Kyaw Swa Lin and Maj-Gen Min Thu, attended the 21st ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Meeting (21st ACDFM) and its related meetings, the 14th ASEAN Military Operations Meeting (14th AMOM) and the 21st ASEAN Military Intelligence Meeting (21st AMIM) in Laos and arrived back on 7 September.

AT the invitation of Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China, a Myanmar delegation led by State Administration Council Member Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae left Yangon for the People’s Republic of China yesterday to attend the 2024 Conference of Global Public Security Cooperation Forum to be held from 8 to 10 September in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, the People’s Republic of China.

ARMED terrorists have been launching attacks by using residential homes and administrative buildings in towns and villages as cover, where they have forcibly settled. They aim to shield themselves from Tatmadaw counterattacks while also persuading temporarily displaced persons to return to their native areas and recruiting new members. That enables terrorists to use civilians as human shields. Tatmadaw is committed to safeguarding the sovereignty of the State and will respond to these threats based on intelligence and prevailing conditions. Therefore, residents in areas where terrorists have taken control must prioritize their safety and protect themselves from being exploited by these groups.

BAMBOO shoot businesses in Myanmar are collaborating to produce dried bamboo shoots using internationally accepted technologies to meet a demand of nearly 200 tonnes per year from China, Japan, and Thailand, according to U Tin Aung Cho, an entrepreneur involved in the Nay Pyi Tawbased cluster of bamboo and bamboo shoot cultivation and production.
