The ceremony to welcome the returning members of the Tatmadaw from the frontiers, who fought bravely on the front lines and achieved victories, was held yesterday morning at the local battalion. It was attended by Lt-Gen Nyunt Win Swe of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), Kayin State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo, departmental officials, local ethnic communities, teachers, students, traditional cultural groups, and the family members of Tatmadaw officers and other ranks, who greeted the returning soldiers with a grand welcome, adorned them with flower garlands, and celebrated with traditional dances.

After successfully defeating the terrorist insurgents in defence of the country, one regiment and three battalions returned to their respective units for training and were warmly welcomed yesterday evening in Intine Village- Tract, Hlegu Township, Yangon Region.

Esteemed voters, Greetings in the Akha language, “Nee Sar Ovq Luvq-ur,” wishing you mental peace, physical health, and overall well-being. I am U Tun Aung, Chairman of the Akha National Development Party. We Akha ethnic people, are an ethnic group living primarily in the eastern region of Shan State along the eastern bank of the Thanlwin River. Our Akha community has preserved its unique traditional customs, attire, and cultural heritage up to the present day. In celebration of our ethnic identity, Akha National Day has been observed every 28 December. The Golden Jubilee Akha National Day was celebrated on 28 December 2024.
