Union Attorney-General U Tun Tun Oo received Team Leader of MyJustice Mr Ross Clarke in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
The meeting focused on the supports of the INGO legal advocacy project in 2020-2024 Strategic Plan of the UAG office, the 2019-2023 Strategic Plan of Rule of Law Centres and Justice Sector Coordinating Body, and the cooperation of UAGO during the second term of MyJustice programme funded by EU.
They also reviewed the coordination progress and discussed the future plans of UAGO and MyJustice.

Pyidaungsu Hluttaw voted on amending provisions of sections in the 2008 Constitution on its 19th day meeting of 15th regular session yesterday.
Out of 654, a total of 633 MPs attended to vote and 21 persons were on leave.
Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Speaker U T Khun Myat announced that each provision could be amended with the number of 491 supporting votes to pass 75 per cent of MPs (490 representatives out of 654).

A combined team including anti-narcotic squad searched a car driven by Maung Maung Lwin (a) Myint Zaw Lwin accompanied with Sai Hsan Paung and Sai Sein Win on the Ywangan-Kyaukse road near Ingon Village in Ywangan Township on 8 March and seized 217 kilo of ICE, 1,678,000 stimulant tablets and a hand phone from them.
Similarly, a local anti-narcotic squad in Muse seized 15,000 stimulant tablets and a hand phone from Yan Chain Lon (a) Ar Lon who drove a car on Pansai(Kyu Kok)-Muse road near Nam Hwel Village, Muse Township on the same day.

The Ministry of Health and Sports held its 31/2020 coordination meeting yesterday afternoon on prevention of COVID-19 with a wide range of measures and public participations.
Union Minister Dr Myint Htwe talked on responsibilities of people in coordination with health officials for preventing the disease without getting into a panic about it.
He also advised not to share or create fake news and rumours on social media, instead to get reliable information from official sources, including the Ministry of Health and Sports.

The Myanmar Scout Association held a meeting last week to discuss its ongoing activities and future plans.
The meeting held at the YMCA hall in Yangon was attended by its Chief Commissioner Dr Tin Nyo, Deputy Chief U Thar Sein, senior members, officials from Region/State education offices and Rover Scout leaders from the universities.
They discussed the possible involvement of education officers in support teams of regional MSAs headed by chief ministers of local governments, establishing the shops and offices of the association and raising funds for these offices.

Deputy Minister U Hla Kyaw of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation highlighted that the ministry has been striving the sustainable development in agriculture, livestock and villages, and village-tracts. Rice and agro-based products should be developed in maximized momentum.
He spoke at the meeting held on 7 March in Pettan Village of Zalun Township, Hinthada District, Ayeyawady Region to hand over 150-acre farmlands to farmers for the development of mechanized agriculture with Union fund in 2019-2020 financial year.

ON the Full Moon Day of Tabaung, Buddhist people did meritorious deeds at the pagodas and temples in Mandalay.
Led by Bhadanta Okahtathe, the presiding monk of Maha Muni Buddha Image’s board of trustees, the Buddhist people offered water and goldfoil robe to the Buddha image. They also kept the Sabbath and donated offertories to the monks.
At the Maha Lawka Yan Hnein in Chanayethazan Township, many pilgrims made Thanakha lotion to wash the face of Buddha image.

RAKHINE religious associations and youths celebrated the traditional sand pagoda festival by building sand replicas of pagodas yesterday, the Full Moon Day of Tabaung, on the Ngapali beach in Thandwe.
The festival celebrates the teachings of the Buddha. Buddhist devotees believe that observing the festival would bring prosperity and peace to the country.

A ceremony to mark 2608th anniversary Tabaung Festival of Shwedagon Pagoda was held on the Full Moon Day of Tabaung yesterday, where the influx of Buddhists performed meritorious-deeds from dawn till dusk. A total of 108-members of Sangha, led by senior monks of the board of trustees, recited Pali verses of consecration at the upper terrace of pagoda.
