OFFICIALS from the Dry Zone Greening Department of Magway Region, carried out plantations  in  Ngaphe  Township,  Minbu District this month, said the departmental officials.

A  total  of  39,850  saplings  including  50  acres  of  water-shed  plantations,  30  acres  of  village  firewood  plantations  and  special  green  plantations  are  being  cultivated  starting  from 11 June.

Special  plantation  will  be  continued this rainy season to revitalize the tropics said officials  from  the  Department  of  Dry Zone Greening.

U Zaw Thin, Head of Dry Zone  Greening  Department,  Ngaphe Township, staff and local  people  participated  in  the  plantation.

A  total  of  39,850  saplings  including  10,402  plants  of  Eucalyptus, 2,1479 plants of cutch, 3,635 plants of Sitt, 1,209 plants of  bamboo,  100  plants  of  Martakut,  550  plants  of  neen,  90  plants of gumkino, 900 plants of  chukrassia,  900  plants  of  Myanmar raintree, 450 plants of  Tectona  and  135  plants  of  Holoptelea were planted on 80 acres of the village land.
