THE Chinese search and rescue teams, including 253 doctors and nurses, who are diligently working to provide humanitarian assistance and support rehabilitation efforts in Myanmar’s earthquake-affected areas, departed for China by air from Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

AS the government of Myanmar continues to swiftly assess the damage in earthquake-affected areas and carries out ongoing rescue and relief efforts, humanitarian assistance from the international community has also been steadily arriving. According to the respective donor countries, rescue teams, medical personnel including doctors and nurses, humanitarian relief supplies and medicines are arriving in Myanmar daily.
