Lawmakers of the Amyotha Hluttaw continued their debates in agriculture, irrigation and healthcare sectors in addition to emphasizing discussions over amendments to the farmland rules at its 19th-day session in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

The 26th day of the Second Regular Session of the Third Pyithu Hluttaw was held yesterday at the Pyithu Hluttaw meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw, attended by Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi, Deputy Speaker U Maung Maung Ohn and parliament members.

Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi met members of the Committee on Youth, Women, Children and Elderly Rights and the Committee on Hotels, Tourism and Culture yesterday to discuss their duties, ongoing activities and plans.

The Amyotha Hluttaw featured the activities of a question-and-answer session, the formation of associations and the submission of a proposal urging the government at its 17th-day session yesterday.

THE Pyithu Hluttaw discussed six infrastructure-related questions and a proposal to establish a National Population and Development Commission during the 23rd-day of its second regular session in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday. Speaker U Khin Yi and Deputy Speaker U Maung Maung Ohn chaired the meeting.

THE Joint Coordination Committee on Parliamentary Development (JCC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, held a briefing session in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday. During the session, the Ministry of Education presented “Measures Undertaken to Enhance the Nation’s Education Sector” as part of efforts to strengthen the capacity of the MPs.

The Third Pyithu Hluttaw debated a broad range of public concerns during the 22nd day of its second regular session, with lawmakers questioning the government on employment, healthcare, education, infrastructure, markets and regional development. Union Ministers and deputy ministers responded by outlining current policies and plans, while several proposals were ruled out for the time being due to budgetary, staffing or administrative constraints.

Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi, accompanied by Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Maung Maung Ohn and relevant officials, met Rule of Law, Peace and Stability Committee members in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
