The award ceremony for the 2025 Tazaungdine lighting festival, the hot-air balloon launch competition, and the Matho robe-weaving competition was held yesterday evening at the fountain square in the Maravijaya Buddha Garden in Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory. The ceremony was attended by Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and State Security and Peace Commission Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

The ceremony to welcome the returning members of the Tatmadaw from the frontiers, who fought bravely on the front lines and achieved victories, was held yesterday morning at the local battalion. It was attended by Lt-Gen Nyunt Win Swe of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), Kayin State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo, departmental officials, local ethnic communities, teachers, students, traditional cultural groups, and the family members of Tatmadaw officers and other ranks, who greeted the returning soldiers with a grand welcome, adorned them with flower garlands, and celebrated with traditional dances.
