NEWS reporters from local and foreign media groups arrived at the villages in Maungtaw Township, Rakhine State, yesterday, to cover the locals and developments in the areas affected by the recent violence among different communities.
Media crews from Myanmar Now, Eleven Media Group, VOA, CNA, European Pressphoto Agency (EPA), BBC Media Action and Aljazeera met with Maungtaw district officials and common people in Padin Village, Nyaungchaung Village and Shwezar Village where shelters are constructed with the donations of India.

THE second Pyidaungsu Hluttaw convened its 14th day meeting of 15th regular session yesterday, and Hluttaw representatives continued their debates on whether to amend or not some articles and sub-articles in the 2008 Constitution.
MP U Nai Thiha from Mon State constituency 7 supported the amendment of Article 8 for the substitution of ‘Union system’ with ‘democratic federal union’.
MP U Tun Tun from Pwintbyu constituency supported the amendment of sub-article (f) of Article 6 to put the wording ‘in accordance with public consent’ into it.

The Ministry of Education and the European Union held the Education Sector Reform Contract Policy Dialogue on 23 March for the EU’s disbursement of 32 million euro (K51 billion) in support of education reform in Myanmar.
Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Gyi and EU Ambassador Mr Kristian Schmidt presided over the meeting held at the headquarters of MoE in Nay Pyi Taw, with the support of MyGovernance Project.

UNION Minister for Health and Sports Dr Myint Htwe presided over the daily meeting (24/2020) on prevention of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) at his office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
At the meeting, the minister discussed the spread of disease in some countries, preventive measures against it, collection of global information about COVID-19 at the Central Epidemiology Unit, doing reviews and analysis and reporting updated situations.

THE Film Development Centre will screen ‘Antichrist” film for analysis in its 37th event of the Cinematheque Programme at its office No. 50, Shwe Taung Gyar Road (Golden Valley Road), Bahan Township, at 12 noon on 1 March. The drama horror film directed by Lars Von Trier won the Cannes Best Actress Award.
The “Antichrist” is about a couple who moved to a cabin in the woods after their toddler accidentally died.
In their cabin, the husband got mysterious visions and the behaviours of his wife became violent.

THE Pyidaungsu Hluttaw continued debate in its 13th day meeting yesterday on the articles and sub-articles in the second bill to amend the State Constitution.
MP U Nay Soe Aung from Wuntho constituency discussed the change of Myanmar language wording of ‘the disabled’ in sub-articles (a) and (b) under Article 32 and Article 344. He also suggested to annul Article 338 regarding the command of Defence Services on the armed forces, and Article 339 about the role of Defence Services to lead in safeguarding the Union against all international and external dangers.
