THE final group stage matches of the 2026 Asian Futsal Qualifiers will continue today, with Myanmar set to play against Afghanistan.

Group (H) matches are being hosted in Myanmar, and today’s match will take place at 4 pm at the MFF Futsal Indoor Stadium in the Thuwunna Youth Training Centre, Yangon, between Myanmar and Afghanistan.

Myanmar, competing in a three-team group, opened their campaign with a 7-3 victory over the Maldives. With that result, both Myanmar and Afghanistan now stand level on three points each, making today’s fixture crucial for qualification.

Although Afghanistan holds a higher FIFA ranking and is regarded as technically stronger, Myanmar still has a chance to progress. A win would secure Myanmar’s advancement, but even in defeat, if they avoid a heavy loss, they remain in contention to qualify as one of the best second-placed teams.

According to the qualification format, the top team from each of the eight groups and the seven best second-placed teams will advance to the finals. With this structure, Myanmar is already close to ensuring at least a second-place finish, giving them a strong chance of progressing.

Meanwhile, Group D, featuring Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Chinese Taipei, and Pakistan, will be contested from 18 to 22 October. With Group H concluding on 24 September, the full list of qualifiers will only be confirmed after all groups finish their matches.
