Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney-General Dr Thida Oo inaugurated new law offices in Dala and Dagon Myothit (Seikkan) townships on the morning of 20 September and met law officers at different levels in Yangon Region.
The Union minister, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and officials cut ceremonial ribbons, unveiled signboards, and toured the offices.

At the ceremony, the Union minister said that the Ministry of Legal Affairs has completed the construction of three district law offices, eleven township law offices including the newly opened Dala and Dagon Myothit (Seikkan) offices, eight staff housing buildings, and thirteen combined office-and-staff housing projects. She noted that these new law offices and staff housing projects reflect infrastructural progress that enables law officers and staff to perform their duties with peace of mind. She urged officials and staff to ensure the long-term durability of the buildings, preserve the greenery and cleanliness of the compound, and uphold safety and security, while striving to be reliable law officers for the State and the people.

In the afternoon, the Union minister met law officers at various levels in Yangon Region at the Yangon Region Advocate-General’s Office. She urged them to perform their duties in line with the Civil Service Law, rules and regulations, the Union Attorney General Law, and the codes of conduct for law officers, as well as to actively cooperate with relevant government departments and organizations to ensure that legal matters are effectively supported.
