OFFICIALS from Anti-Corruption Commission attended the first intersessional meeting of the Conference of the States Parties to the UN Convention against Corruption on preparations for the special session of the General Assembly that was held online from 2 to 4 September 2020.

The Implementation Review Group of the United Nations Convention, as an intergovernmental group of States parties, against Corruption also organized first resumed 11st session online from 31 August to 2 September. Representatives from the United Nations Convention member countries including Myanmar Anti-Corruption Commission’s Daw Myat Myat Soe and Anti-Corruption Commission Office Directors U Lin Wai Aung and Daw Aye Myat Mon attended the meeting.

UNGASS first intersessional meeting discussed matters relating to implementation of anti-corruption producers that are included at UN anti-corruption convention and international cooperation in preventing and eliminating corruption.

The meeting detailed about technical assistance exchange and experiencing difficulties and challenges in preventing corruption, ongoing tasks and strengthening international asset recovery cooperation.

They also highlighted the political declaration bill that was drawn up by member countries and economic alliances and that will be adopted at UNGASS-2021.

ACC supported the drawing up of the political declaration bill and reported on the commission’s efforts on preventing and eliminating corruption.

They also discussed implementations of Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan-MSDP (2018- 2030) goals in accordance with Sustainable Development Goals-SDGs and Anti-Corruption Strategy Plan (2018-2021), ongoing year-by-year work plans and anti-corruption cooperation.
