608 Myanmar nationals come back home via Myawady border bridge on 29 June

A total of 608 Myanmar nationals returned home from Thailand through No. 2 border bridge in Myawady Town, Kayin State, on 29 June.

Among them, 551 persons arrived back in their own programmes with the approval of Myanmar Embassy in Thailand, and 57 persons were handed over by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security of Thailand after they were accomodated as the trafficked victims. Kayin State Hluttaw MP U Thant Zin Aung, Myawady District Administrative Office U Tay Zar Aung and local officials helped the returnees with medical tests and other supplies. The number of migrant workers who returned home from abroad through this border has been 36,553 until now. The latest group of returnees included 380 males and 228 females from different regions and states.
