THE office of Ms Christine Schraner Burgener, Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General on Myanmar was opened in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar on 17 December 2018. Myanmar has steadfastly opposed the mandates emanated from the country-specific resolutions. However, Myanmar extended its cooperation to Ms Christine Schraner Burgener on the case by case basis and hosted her office in Nay Pyi Taw as a gesture of cooperation with the United Nations.
