UNION Minister for Construction U Shwe Lay, accompanied by commander of the Military Operations Command Colonel Thaw Zin Oo, inspected roads in Monghsat town and the current condition of the Monghsat-Tachilek section and the paved section of the concrete roadway on 26 April. During the inspection tour, the Union Minister said the Monghsat-Tachilek road is an impor-tant connecting road to the border towns. The roads and bridges must be in good condition for the active flow of goods.

A MYANMAR delegation led by U Than Aung Kyaw, Deputy Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations virtually participated on the occasion of the 77th Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) which is being held from 26 to 29 April, 2021. The theme topic of the session is “Building back better from crises through regional cooperation in the Asia and the Pacific”. The opening session was held on 26th April.

THE English proficiency course jointly conducted by the Ministry of Information and Ministry of Education was held yesterday. During the ceremony, Union Minister U Chit Naing stressed the need to have more practices and a great passion for English language study like writing, reading and speaking. Then, Deputy Minister Dr Zaw Myint said the first English language course was opened at MRTV in Tatkon, and it is the second course. Such doing to improve the quality of staff is a good move.

THE Overseas Employment Supervisory Committee held its (1/2021) coordination meeting at the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population yesterday. During the meeting, Committee Chairman Union Minister U Myint Kyaing discussed the establishment of a committee to ensure the safe sending of Myanmar migrant workers to foreign countries and protection for the rights of those working in foreign countries.
