A fighter aircraft of Tatmadaw (Air) was involved in an accident during a training flight at about 5:16 am yesterday after experiencing a bird strike near Nyaunghnapin Village, about 8.5 kilometres southeast of Hmawby Township, Yangon Region. According to the report, the bird was ingested into the aircraft’s engine, causing an engine fire. The pilot manoeuvred the aircraft away from residential areas before ejecting safely.

The security officials proceeded to the crash site to carry out necessary security and recovery operations. No aircrew members on board were injured in the incident.
