The electricity has now restored to some regions and states devasted by the quake.

As of 6 April evening, the power was back in some wards of Sagaing Region which severely suffered the quake and similarly, Kaylar village in Nyaungshwe Township’s Inle area has lighted up again, according to residents.

“Nyaungshwe Township electricity office made great effort to light up temporary clinic and rescue camp which have been set up in Kaylar and we could provide the power to Kaylar Monastery and the temporary clinic on 6 April,” said a staffer from the township electricity office.

Due to the quake struck on 28 March, power transmission lines, sub-stations, transformers and electricity infrastructures were damaged and officials under the Ministry of Electric Power managed to restore the power supply system as earliest as possible from 29 March.
