Myanmar Fire Service Department continues to search and rescue operations in Mandalay and more bodies were recovered on 5 April, according to its statement.

The department has been searching people trapped in collapsed buildings in Mandalay, where a strong earthquake has struck and  the body of a woman was found at six-storied Shwe Win Women’s Dormitory RCC  building on 38th and 72nd streets at 13:58 on 5 April.

The bodies of one female and one male were also recovered at 09:31 and 09:35 on 5 April at the TULIP guesthouse building between 36th and (79×80) streets by fire fighters and Russian search and rescue teams in cooperation with relevant organizations.

The Myanmar Fire Service Department has been carrying out search and rescue operations since the earthquake struck on 28 March, in cooperation with international rescue teams, relevant organizations, and charitable organizations.
