Deputy Speaker U Tun Tun Hein of the Pyithu Hluttaw received Chair Mrs Renate Kunast of the German-ASEAN Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Hluttaw Guest Hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
During the meeting, they cordially exchanged the views on the enhancement of bilateral relations and cooperation between Germany and Myanmar, the Hanns Seidel Foundation’s assistance to Myanmar Parliament, democracy, human rights and elections in Myanmar, the improvement of bilateral trade and investment and legislation process of Myanmar Parliament among others.

The 8th day of Pyithu Hluttaw’s 15th regular session was held yesterday, with raising queries to the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population and the Ministry of Home Affairs, and heard an amendment bill for the Law Protecting Privacy and Security of Citizens.

THE seventh-day meeting of the Second Pyithu Hluttaw’s 15th regular session was held yesterday.

Committees’ duration extended

Speaker U T Khun Myat first announced the extension of Hluttaw committees that have reached the end of their terms.

The International Relations Committee, National Races Affairs and Peace Making Committee, and Farmer and Worker Affairs Committee have been extended from 17 February 2020 to 31 January 2021.

Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U T Khun Myat received the Vice President of the Czech Republic’s Senate, Mr Jan Hornik, at the Hluttaw building in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
They discussed increasing cooperation and communication between the parliaments of both nations, environmental conservation, protection of children and the elderly, and the duties of Hluttaw representatives within and outside the Hluttaw.

PYITHU Hluttaw Speaker U T Khun Myat received Ambassador of Canada Mr Francois Lafreniere at the reception hall of Hluttaw building in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.


During the meeting, they cordially discussed promoting the friendship and collaboration between parliaments of the two countries, promoting the roles of women in the parliaments, and building capacities of the Hluttaw representatives.


They also ex - changed views on their experiences in the democratic federal system.

DEPUTY Minister for Planning, Finance and Industry U Maung Maung Win said the ministry is planning to set the prices for vehicles to be fair and not much different from private auto sales associations in the 2020-2021 financial year.


He made the comment is his answer to the question raised by MP U Phyo Zeyar Thaw (a) Zeyar Thaw from Zabuthiri Constituency at the Pyithu Hluttaw yesterday. The Second Pyithu Hlttaw held its fifth day meeting of the 15th Session.

THE 15th regular session of Second Pyithu Hluttaw held the 3rd day meeting yesterday, with answers to the asterisked questions and tabling a motion.

MP U Shwe Hla Kyaing from Kangyidaung constituency asked about legal action against land owners who have not built any building although they have already taken land permits in the last 20 years and the township has been 24 years.
He also urged the Union government to invite business firms for investments on the remaining land plots which have not been issued for permits.
