The first regular session of the Third Pyithu Hluttaw continued its second-day meeting at the convention hall of the Pyithu Hluttaw at Hluttaw Complex in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
The Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw announced that, out of a total of 373 Pyithu Hluttaw representatives eligible to attend the second day of the First Regular Session of the Third Pyithu Hluttaw, 371 representatives were present at today’s meeting. With an attendance rate of 99.46 per cent, the session met the quorum requirement and was declared open. The attendance record was then submitted to the Hluttaw for approval and officially documented.
The Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker explained the formation of the Bill Committee while the Deputy Speaker of Pyithu Hluttaw clarified the responsibilities, authority, rights, term and meetings of the Bill Committee.
The Speaker submitted a proposal to the Hluttaw, stating that the Bill Committee will be formed with 15 members, chaired by Dr Nanda Kyaw Swa of Dagon Constituency, together with U Thein Tun Oo of Amarapura Constituency as the Secretary.
The Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker also explained the formation of the Public Accounts Committee, whereas the Deputy Speaker clarified the responsibilities, authority, rights, term and meetings of the Public Accounts Committee.
The Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker presented a proposal to the Hluttaw that the Public Accounts Committee will be constituted with 15 members led by U Teza Kyaw of Aungmyaythazan Constituency as the Chair and U Tin Aung Chit of Aunglan Constituency as the Secretary.
The second-day meeting of the first regular session of the Third Pyithu Hluttaw was adjourned, and the third-day meeting will be held at 10 am on 24 March. — MNA/TTA
