1. The Myanmar citizens were unable to fully enjoy a stable and peaceful state due to the armed conflicts that emerged following Myanmar’s independence, the successive Governments of Myanmar made concerted efforts to attain peace but they were unable to reach this objective. On 15 October 2015, the Government signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) with eight ethnic armed organizations. The agreement was signed in the presence of representatives from both local and foreign organizations, including the United Nations, who participated as witnesses. Countries around the world also welcomed and offered their support. All these together with the approval of the NCA by the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw marked a significant milestone in Myanmar's history. Today, on 15 October 2023, the NCA celebrates its 8th anniversary.

AT the 54th Regular Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council which was held in Geneva from 11 September to 13 October 2023, two unsupportive country-specific events against Myanmar were included. These are the Interactive Dialogues (IDs) on the report of the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM) and on the report of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, organized on 11 September 2023 and 26 September 2023 respectively. Subjective modalities of such country-specific dialogues never enjoy the support of the countries concerned. Convening the IDs behind Myanmar further prejudiced the already one-sided dialogues.
