A chemical clean-up of the plants growing on ancient buildings in Bagan has been underway since mid-October. According to the Department of Archaeology and National Museums (Bagan Branch), habitual plants growing on the stupas and temples with high historical and architectural value in the Bagan Archaeological Zone are being cleaned and removed with chemicals.

THE combined team made in- township spections on 13 and 15 October and seized a Hino Profia truck (approximately worth K55 million), headed to Yangon from Myawady, carrying two kinds of goods worth about K13 million, including 2,754 kilogrammes of Queen orange cordial drink that were not declared in the Import Declaration (ID), near Milepost Zero on Yangon-Mandalay expressway and an unregistered Toyota Ipsum car (approximately worth K3.5 million) on Bayintnaung road in Insein township. The action was taken under Customs procedures and relevant procedures.
