The Law Relating to Overseas Employment sub-section (g) of Section 8 stated the duties and functions of the Supervisory Committee as “communicating and coordinating with the relevant government departments and organizations to prevent workers from taking up overseas employment without having registered under this Law; and sub-section (i) stated that “preventing workers who are found unsuitable for overseas employment by the Inspections Sub-Committees, from departing to take up such employment”.

On 6 August 2024, 49-year-old Daw Than Than Sint (aka) Ma Akyima was left alone at the house located in Thahtaykwin Village, Thanlyin Township, Yangon Region. When her brother Ko Min Aung Kyaw came back from work at 6:30 pm and found his sister Daw Than Than Sint (aka) Ma Akyima dead with many wounds beside the bed, he also saw the loss of varieties of gold items worth ten ticals, K30 million, three phone handsets, and one land contract, in totalling worth approximately K98.7 million. He reported the case to the Thanlyin Myoma Police State and filed the case under Penal Code 302/392.
