Coronavirus is a 'controllable pandemic': WHO


The global outbreak of the new coronavirus could now be considered a pandemic — a disease actively spreading globally.


THE new coronavirus out-break "is a controllable pandemic" if countries step up measures to tackle it, the head of the World Health Organisation (WHO) said on Thursday (March 12).


WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus acknowledged on Wednesday that the global outbreak of the new coronavirus could now be considered a pandemic — a disease actively spreading globally.

World spread

To date, more than 3,100 have died from the new virus, while more than 90,000 have been infected in 73 countries and territories around the world, according to AFP's latest toll based on official sources at 0600 GMT Tuesday.

Tasks being implemented by Citizens Fundamental Right, Democracy and Human Rights Committee of Amyotha Hluttaw

FORMATION of the Amyotha Hluttaw Committees, Commissions and Bodies are being constituted in accordance with the stipulation of 147 ( c ) of the 2008 Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. Hailing 58th Anniversary of Peasants Day

There are five mass classes, namely 1. Buddhist Sangha 2. Peasants 3. Workers 4. Students 5. Army. They are recruited from Myanmar ethnic nationalities. Each of them has its own Day. Sangha Day is many such as Abedama Day, Damahsetjar Day, Mettasuta Day etc.

Peasants Day which was chosen on March 2nd, Workers’ Day on May 1st which is International Workers’ Day (May Day). Students’ Day chosen on 10th Waning Moon of Tazaungmoung, Amyotha Aung Pwe Day (National Victory Day) and Army Tatmadaw Day celebrated on March 27th.

Light going to come through darkness in rural areas before long

Energy sector plays a major role in Myanmar nowadays. Power demand has doubled increase despite a boost in power generation. This is because factories, industries and modern buildings are on the increase and people have been using more and more electrical appliances. Only one fourth of the total population of Myanmar has gained access to electric power, but the remaining three fourths of the total population are still distant to get access to power.
