A special appeal tribunal consisting of Union Chief Justice U Htun Htun Oo and Judges of Supreme Court of the Union U Aung Zaw Thein, U Myo Tint, U Kyi Thein and U Khin Maung Gyi convened yesterday morning at the room No. 1 of the Supreme Court of the Union and passed the judgements on five special civil appeal cases, special civil appeal case No. 29/ 2020 (Sagaing), 31/2020 (Rakhine), 36/2020 (Mandalay), 39/2020 (Sagaing) and 44/2020 (Yangon).

The Ministry of Electricity and Energy is providing electricity to the public, and currently, about 667.8 megawatts generated from hydropower and solar power plants, about 1,500.3 MW from gas-fired power plants and coal-fired power plants and about 8.9 MW from diesel generators, totalling 2,177 MW is being generated and sent to the national grid. The national average daily demand for electricity from the national grid is around 3,400 megawatts in day time and the maximum is about 3,600 megawatts at night, and the average daily power consumption is around 2,600 megawatts per day.
