THE 2024 Myanmar-China Media Tea Party took place at the Governor’s Residence in Dagon Township, Yangon Region, on 24 January 2024. The event was attended by Mr Zheng Zhihong, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, along with the economic and commercial and cultural counsellors, embassy staff, and representatives from both Chinese and Myanmar media outlets. Mr Zheng Zhihong delivered the opening speech.

Malicious news media named Khit Thit is spreading false news, stating that security forces burned down Ywama Village in Sagaing Township, Yaylehmaw Village, in Wetlet Township in Sagaing Region, and Natyaydwin Village in Paungde Township, Bago Region, on 24 January. Residents said that PDF terrorists were burning down houses in the villages and spreading false news. The so-called PDF terrorists robbed goods and cash from the grocery store and burned ten houses in Ywama Village. They also spread news stating that security forces burned down 18 houses in Yaylehmaw Village, Wetlet Township.
