WITH a view to greening and preserving the environment, a pre-monsoon tree-planting ceremony, led Dry Zone Greening Department of Shwebo District, was held in the Shwebo University Compound in Shwebo District, Sagaing Region on 2 May.
Dry Zone Greening Department Assistant Director U Zaw Win Htwe distributed the plants to officials and residents. The District Administration Body deputy administrator, officials, the Shwebo University rector and teachers grew 2,000 saplings, including 600 Eucalyptus, 350 Gum-kino, 350 rain trees, 350 Thinbaw rain trees and 350 Maezali trees.
Moreover, a pre-monsoon tree-planting ceremony was also held in the Myotha Industrial Park City Project area in Nganzun Township of Mandalay Region.
District Dry Zone Greening Department Assistant Director U Win Maw Naing explained the ceremony. Regional Director U Thaw Naing Oo, officials and staff from the Forest Department, Township Administration Body and personnel from the Industrial Park City and residents joined the activity.
They grew 1,500 plants high over five feet, including 750 star-flower trees, 650 Golden Mohur trees and 100 Gum-kino trees on both sides of the road to TadaU Airport and Semeikhon Port in the Myotha Industrial Park City Project area.
