THE heated issue on social media in recent days is the reports about the “hit list” of people to be violently killed by the terrorist group NUG. The reports also stated that PDFs are being overseen by the direct instructions of the so-called Minister for Home Affairs of the NUG to kill the people on the “hit list”. This issue also became a breakthrough among international communities and media outlets. Following the reports, it found Sasa and Zin Mar Aung from the terrorist group NUG are hastily attempting to explain to the international communities and media that there is no “hit list” in NUG.

On 8 November 2021, Sasa claimed that the reports saying the NUG has sent a “hit list” of political enemies to be killed to the NUG-allied resistance groups are false. Moreover, Zin Mar Aung from the terrorist group NUG made a similar statement and denied the allegations to VOA media on 10 November.

Meanwhile, despite their denials, a letter of a peace activist on the “hit list” asking for help from the international diplomatic arena appeared. The letter described the facts: the path of NUG is against the values and norms internationally upheld; the NUG/PDF killed 188 innocent civilians in October alone; the NUG/ PDF has killed over 600 unarmed civilians so far; the international communities have the both moral and political authority to put an end to the NUG/PDF becoming the monster; the “hit list” for assassination includes businessmen, politicians, actors/ artists/ performers, who they think, supporting or working with the military regime; U Ko Ko Gyi (Chairman of the People’s Party), Dr Aung Naing Oo, member of the Mon Unity Party and the former Deputy Speaker of Mon State Parliament, and their party members have been threatened multiple occasions by the NUG/PDF; neutral people who have not taken sides in the current conflict have also been killed; there are three types of targeted killings committed by NUG/PDF; the first type is directly managed and operationalized by the NUG; the second one is conducted by its affiliated groups with the intelligence and resources provided by NUG; the final one is the targeted killings committed by the local PDFs; and Lwin Ko Latt (fugitive) from NUG, oversees the hit operations. It also found that the peace activist asked for help from international diplomats by attaching a recent picture of NUG/PDF Lwin Ko Latt’s online meeting with over 60 PDF groups.

Although the terrorist group NUG is convincingly lying about the “hit list” case, as the case is true and prevailing in the political and diplomatic arena, international communities engaging with NUG start to notice their acts of terrorism they could no longer cover up. Therefore, in the UN Security Council’s press statement on Myanmar released on 10 November, members of the Council called for an immediate cessation of violence and to ensure the safety of civilians. Since the NUG/PDF’s acts of terrorism are intolerable, the international communities engaging with them even point out and warn about the “hit list” case.

The reports of NUG’s “hit list” is prevailing on online media and in reality, the people in their daily life are also witnessing the acts of terrorism committed by the NUG/PDFs physically and mentally. Everybody knows the PDF born by the NUG and extreme supporters of the NLD party, on a daily basis, are committing the killings of innocent civilians and Buddhist monks accused of “informant/ dalan”; murders of ward/ village administrators for no reason; mass killings against teachers and education staff and their whole families; bombing attacks against the civilian targets and schools; terrorizing the COVID-19 precautionary measures and vaccination sites; and burning down the public houses.

The worst thing is killing Buddhist monks and teachers who are the members of Five Infinite Venerables in Myanmar where the majority of societies are Buddhism. Such atrocities are acts of terrorism which are totally unacceptable from the Buddhist perspectives of lawki and lawkuttaya (secular world and the way to escape from worldly desires and attachments). From 3 May to 15 November 2021, 12 Buddhist monks were killed and five were severely injured. Such killings of Buddhist monks in Myanmar regarded as the most religious Theravada Buddhism country by the world countries are serious hazards to Buddha Sasana and also the sorrowful catastrophes for every devotee of Buddhism.

Other grievous events are the violent attacks against the national education sector. By the arrangements of the NUG, the terrorists dehumanize the education staff under the name of Social Punishment to join CDM. When the schools reopened, they recklessly conducted bombing and arson attacks on schools to prevent the children from education. They also brutally killed innocent teachers who did not join CDM. From 1 February to 15 November 2021, there were 438 arson attacks on schools across the country. Moreover, 7 teachers and 5 education staff were violently killed and 13 teachers and 2 education staff were injured making a total of 27.

In any country, every parent of any race wants their children to be educated. The terrorist acts of NUG/PDFs intending to make unable the children to go to schools is simply breaking down the hopes of parents. Terrorizing the education sector is simply destroying the future of the country. There is much irrefutable evidence showing that those who order to destroy the future of the country are fugitive NUG groups and the implementers are the extremists of NLD party members and PDF terrorists. Brutal killings of Buddhist monks and teachers who are the members of ‘Five Infinite Venerables’ in Myanmar societies and faiths vividly show that the NUG/PDFs and NLD supporters are inhumane terrorists. Murdering Buddhist monks and teachers for no reason is very despicable and ugly and also the terrorist acts of political extremism which is totally unacceptable both for Myanmar society and the world.

Moreover, there are further acts of terrorism by NUG/PDF attempting to commit massacres like Al-Qaeda and ISIS. On 12 August 2021, terrorists attempted to crash three ATR-72-600 aircraft with flight numbers (XYAMP), (XY-AMN), (XY-AMO) of the domestic airline of AIR KBZ by putting leaves into the pilot tubes of the aircraft. Since the responsible persons conducted the inspection and managed to prevent the disaster in time, passengers on board were safe from the mass killing. Similarly, PDF terrorists exploded and burnt down a YBS-20 passenger bus near the Simmalite bus stop in the Kyimyindine township of the Yangon region on 1 October 2021. The passengers were fortunately evacuated in time.

Furthermore, there is much evidence of acts by some fugitives from NUG and NLD hard-core lobbyists confirming the terrorist group NUG is upholding terrorism both physically and mentally. Sasa from terrorist group NUG remarked encouragement at an online terrorist bomb-making class organized by an American in February 2021. An independent online media outlet New Naratif explicitly revealed that the online class taught the attendees how to make guns, and bombs, terrorist bombing and extremist ideologies.

The United States has enacted a lot of anti-terrorism laws to curb extremist terrorists, other forms of terrorism, and control the methods of making such illegal weapons in the world after the 9/11 attacks. The United Nations has also formulated counter-terrorism strategies. As the New Naratif online media outlet revealed the terrible acts which are not acceptable in the international arena, Sasa from NUG terrorist group even threatened to sue the news outlet. Like the current case of “Hit List”, it was an example of fearful denial of NUG/PDF terrorist groups for worrying that their acts will be recognized by the international community as evidence of terrorism.

You may remember that Zaw Wai Soe from the NUG terrorist group met with his partners and organizations via Zoom Meeting on 7 June 2021 and he also revealed his plans to carry out terrorist activities. It can be seen that he had instructed to conduct the violence, saying “Do not open the small bags, if you do, it will end up your life” and “foods are also put poison”. There is strong evidence of video recordings of what he has said.

Myo Yan Naung Thein (fugitive), a former researcher of the NLD party, a lobbyist for the NUG terrorist group’s acts of terrorism, has also openly spoken out on social media that “Do not send your children to school. If you do so, they may lose their limbs and lives”. It was the extremist incitement of violence and a serious threat to the parents.

Similar writings and sayings of other extremist lobbyists, members of NUG terrorist groups and PDF groups under various names can be seen on social media. Such statements and activities by Sasa, Zaw Wai Soe and NUG/PDF lobbyists are not fabrications and but strong evidence, which can be easily accessed, spreading among the public because such evidence is their irrefutable spoken words. Although some countries in the world do not officially recognize the NUG/PDF, they received the terrorists in their countries and engaged with them. Therefore, certain questions raised whether the countries encourage terrorism and acts of terrorism. Moreover, it is doubtful that the countries supporting NUG/PDF are apparently breeding terrorist groups like ISIS, Al-Qaida and Hezbollah again in Myanmar and the region. At present, the fugitive NUG members are committing brutal killings of unarmed people by upholding the concept “Every people differ from my attitude is my enemy” and therefore, I urge certain countries and international organizations, which have been in contact with NUG/PDF to collectively denounce them by perceiving their attempts to achieve a political goal using the way of terrorism.

There has been an international outcry that terrorism and extremism are on the rise due to the neglect of Facebook’s social media policy and technology on such issues encouraging extremist violence. On the other hand, international organizations, citizens of democratic countries and governments remain silent although they know the acts of terrorism perpetrated by NUG, PDF and NLD extremists. Therefore, the author is also amazed to know and wonders why the international organizations, citizens who practise democratic values and governments of consolidated democracy countries are reluctant to condemn, point out and prevent any forms of violence in Myanmar. I also feel sad as a common citizen who values democratic values.

By looking at the pieces of evidence of terrorist acts and the attempts to carry out the massacre of innocent civilians perpetrated by the NUG and PDF terrorist groups on daily basis, the current “hit list” is no doubt undeniable. What is the “Hit List” many people are interested in? Therefore, the intention of “Hit List” can be seen by looking at the acts of terrorist bombings and killings by NUG and PDF groups.

NUG/PDFs are simply the terrorist groups upholding terrorism, which is unacceptable to any society in the world. It is additionally supported by the indisputable evidence of their spoken words and daily violence and the now-popular “Hit List”. It is very important to ensure that the political extremist terrorism of assassinating innocent people by NUG / PDF holding the concept of “every people differ from my attitude is my enemy” is not to be rooted in Myanmar as well as in the region and beyond. Therefore, the international community and the people of Myanmar are urged to work together to fight against the actions of the NUG, PDF and extremist NLD terrorists.
