THE 11th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Youth and 10th ASEAN Plus Three Senior Officials Meeting on Youth were hosted by Malaysia via videoconferencing on 23 and 24 September.

During the opening ceremony of SOMY, Deputy Director-General U Aung Kyaw Moe of Social Welfare Department of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, Leader of Myanmar Delegation and Co-Chair of the event made a greeting speech.

Then, Deputy Secretary-General Ms Ramona Mohd Razali of Ministry of Youth and Sports of the host country, Malaysia and Director-General U Aung Kyaw Moe of the Social Welfare Department presided over the event.

The meeting discussed the accomplishments of the 10th SOMY, ASEAN Work Plan on Youth (2016-2020) and ASEAN Youth Development Index Phase II.

The ASEAN youth affairs organization presented their current work plans and discussed the ASEAN youth fund, preparations for 12th SOMY and amended the reports of 10th SOMY.

The 10th ASEAN Plus Three Senior Officials Meeting on Youth was convened on 24 September.

During the meeting, the leaders discussed the achievements of the ASEAN+3 Youth Work Plan (2016-2020), future work programmes of the ASEAN+3 Youth Work Plan (2021- 2025) and cooperation work in youth affairs.
