UNION Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung joined the 48th Meeting of the Greater Mekong Subregion Tourism Working Group and Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office Board Meeting online on 17 September.

The Ministers and Deputy Tourism Ministers of GMS countries, Leaders of Tourism Authority, Director Mr Alfredo Perdiguero of the Southeast Asian Department of Asian Development Bank, Managing Director of Mr Jens Thraenhart of Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office and invited guests attended the meeting.

During the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office Board Meeting, Union Minister Dr Htay Aung discussed Myanmar Tour[1]ism Strategic Recovery Roadmap 2021-2025, “Enchanting Myanmar Health and Safety Protocol”, current development in political, economy and social sector and potentials in the tourism industry of the country. Then, the attendees to the meeting coordinated the discussion. Director-General U Maung Maung Kyaw attended the 48th Meeting of the GMS Tourism Working Group and discussed the challenges in the tourism sector, plans to be done in the post-COVID-19 period and cooperation work with the GMS member countries and development partners.
