A coordination meeting with coffee entrepreneurs was held in line with COVID-19 health rules in PyinOoLwin yesterday.

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo, Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi, Mandalay Region Chief Minister Wunna Kyaw Htin U Maung Ko, regional government officials, departmental officials and coffee entrepreneurs attended the meeting.

During the event, Union Minister U Tin Htut Oo discussed proper cooperation among the relevant departments, private sector and farmers to produce export-quality coffee in addition to sufficient local consumption and plans to provide good seeds, technical assistance, researches and development programmes.

Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi then focused on the establishment of mixed cropping farms and the need to follow the fixed rules and regulations in operating coffee farming in forest areas.

The region Chief Minister also discussed the expansion of coffee plantations for regional development and job opportunities.

Then, the coffee entrepreneurs and farmers respectively presented their difficulties in the coffee industry.
