THE COVID-19 treatment centre (Thuwunna) is providing treatment for confirmed patients starting from 8 July, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports.
Besides, the Yoma Yeiktha COVID-19 centre will accept 1,000 quarantined patients and 576 con[1]firmed patients while the MCC COVID-19 centre will accept 250 confirmed patients. Patients started receiving treatment at the MCC centre on 26 June. Yangon General Hospital and Yangon new general hospital are also providing treatment for COVID-19 patients. Inya Lake COVID-19 centre (Mayangon) was also opened as a treatment centre and about 24 confirmed patients have started receiving medical treatment, it is learnt.
Inya Lake COVID-19 centre (Mayangon) can accommodate about 500 patients. Adequate oxygen supply is being arranged to provide the patients, according to the Ministry.
The medical treatment teams from across the country have to update their guidelines and pro[1]jects to provide systematic treatment to patients depending on the severity of the disease. It must be prepared in consultation with medical volunteers and relevant authorities, said the Union Minister for the Ministry of Health and Sports.
He also instructed the health officials to offer proper medical services, follow the medical ethics and infection control procedures.
Under the Ministry of Health and Sports’ guide lines, the Tatmadaw medical teams, medical staff from the public health and treatment department and volunteer staff are monitoring the disease daily and providing necessary treatment to the patients in the areas where the COVID-19 virus has been found in large numbers.
People may be required to stay in isolation if they have fever, cough, sudden loss of odour and difficult breathing and had close contact with a COVID-19 confirmed patient in the last 14 days. Those people must wear masks and inform the concerned health in charge and nearest health department.
Myanmar was hit by the third wave of COVID-19 on 27 May.
