Two foreign nationals linked to online gambling, telecom fraud and other criminal activities in the Myawady-Shwe Kokko area have been handed over to their respective countries through Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge II.
The two nationals, one from Indonesia and one from Belarus, were transferred in accordance with legal procedures on humanitarian and friendly cooperation grounds.
Authorities stated that a total of 14,740 foreign nationals who illegally entered Myawady Township between 30 January 2025 and 4 August 2026 had been detained and processed. Of these, 13,814 had been repatriated to their respective countries via Thailand.
Another 213 foreign nationals are awaiting transfer, while 713 remain subject to legal action for violations of Myanmar’s immigration and drug-related laws.
