Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi visited the athletes representing his ministry who are preparing for the Fifth National Sports Festival yesterday.

The Union minister observed the training sessions of the men’s sepak takraw team at the Lewe Township Sports Hall as well as the men’s volleyball team and (men’s and women’s) track and field teams at the Wunna Theikdhi Sports Complex.

During his visit, the Union minister met with the athletes, offering words of encouragement. He advised them to train hard with determination and a spirit of sportsmanship, striving to represent the country with honour and excel in their respective events. The Union minister also provided financial support and sports equipment to the athletes.

A total of 90 athletes representing the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation will participate in five sports events at the 5th National Sports Festival, including men’s football, men’s volleyball, men’s sepak takraw, track and field (men’s and women’s), and golf for male athletes.
