The Ministry of Legal Affairs and the Russian Prosecutor-General Office jointly organized a Legal Lecture of Russian Experts in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday as part of the MoU (2024-2025) .

It was attended by Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney-General Dr Thida Oo, Anti-Corruption Commission Vice-Chair U Sit Aye, Deputy Minister for Legal Affairs and Deputy Attorney-General Dr Htein Lin Oo, Justice of Union Supreme Court U Myo Tint, Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Toe Yi, relevant officials, Russian delegation led by Mr Bazhutov Sergey of Russian Prosecutor-General Office, officials from the Russian Embassy to Myanmar and trainees.

Speaking at the event, the Union minister said three Russian legal experts would focus on the challenges in combatting tech-based gang crime including surveillance of digital-based crime and preventive measures, preventive procedures of Russia in illegal activities and anti-corruption activities of Russia.

The three Russian experts then shared knowledge under three different topics.

After the discussion, Mr Bazhutov Sergey presented certificates of the Russian Prosecutor-General Office to the trainees and observed the trial site and e-library of the Legal Advocacy Centre.

The two parties also held a meeting on the participation of government lawyers in criminal cases and civil lawsuits at courts and the submission of electronic evidences by government lawyers.
