UNION Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win arrived at Yangon International Airport yesterday after attending the 2024 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Forum on Traditional Medicine in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, China.

On 27 June, a Myanmar delegation led by Dr Thet Khaing Win visited a medicinal herb garden, a traditional medicine manufacturing plant, and Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. The delegation also toured the Nanchang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where they observed the treatments involving Chinese traditional medicine using modern medical equipment.

On 28 June, the Union minister and his delegation met with the chairperson of the traditional medicine administration body of Jiangxi Province to discuss collaboration for the development of traditional medicines in both countries. They also discussed arrangements for signing a memorandum of understanding between Myanmar’s Department of Traditional Medicine and Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as the establishment of a traditional medicine museum.
