At the invitation of the Government of the People’s Republic of China, U Thein Sein, former President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, left Nay Pyi Taw to attend the 70th Anniversary of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence in the People’s Republic of China at 8 am on 27 June 2024 by Special Flight from Nay Pyi Taw Airport.

The Myanmar delegation was seen off by Admiral Tin Aung San, Member of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Defence, U Wunna Maung Lwin, Member of the State Administration Council, U Ko Ko Hlaing, Union Minister of the Ministry 2 at Office of the Chairman of the State Administration Council, U Lwin Oo, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Chen Hai, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Former President U Thein Sein was accompanied by U Thant Kyaw, Chairman of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies (MISIS), U Tin Oo, Chairman of the Myanmar-China Friendship Association, Daw Than Than Nu, Chairperson of the U Nu-Daw Mya Yi Foundation and other officials.
