THE combined teams managed by the Customs Department confiscated 605.5 kilogrammes of Polyester 3D Air Mesh from China that exceeded the Import Declaration (ID) worth K2.098 million at the Asia World Port Terminal container checkpoint on 29 February. This enforcement was carried out under Customs procedures.

On 29 February and 1 March, the combined teams supervised by the Yangon Region Illegal Trade Eradication Special Task Force nabbed a Higer truck (approximately K58 million) heading to Yangon from Thamanya, carrying four kinds of goods worth K12.3 million, including 15,000 boxes of Lactasoy soy milk without official documents at the Ywathagyi Dry Port and a Toyota Dyna vehicle (estimated value of K15 million) carrying illegal timber weighing 29.213 tonnes valued at K4,382,010 near Tamatakaw village on Twantay-Hlinethaya road on 1 March. Actions were taken under Customs procedures and the Forest Law. On 2 March, illegal teak weighing 2.160 tonnes and illegal timber weighing 6.528 tonnes worth K1,997,836 were seized in Bago and Toungoo districts. The action was taken under the Forest Law.

Additionally, on the same day, the combined teams confiscated a Yar Zar Min bus (approximately K30 million) carrying 7,800 boxes of Lactasoy soy milk and 17,500 bottles of LipoVitan-D energy drink valued at K17.25 million near Kamawkasin village in Hpa-an Township. The action was taken under Customs procedures. The Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee reported that ten arrests were made on three consecutive days from 29 February to 2 March, with an estimated value of K141,027,846.
