KHIT Thit Media has been spreading false information on social networking sites that one civilian was killed and three were injured due to the firing of heavy weapons in Pyinmapin Village, Kyaukdaga Township, Bago Region, on 27 December.

Similarly, it spread misinformation that a clash occurred between the terrorists and the security forces in Thayagon Village and Doetan Village of Yedashe Township, and one person was killed due to the security forces firing heavy weapons into the villages on the same day.

Officials from the respective areas said that there was no shooting in these villages and no clash between the security forces and terrorists. They added that terrorists ran away and there were no injuries to the public.

The malicious Khit Thit media has been deliberately plotting to discredit Tatmadaw and the security forces through misinformation.
