FALSE news was released on social media that a total of 83 local villagers were arrested in the village's monastery in Ngathantaing Village, Thabeikkyin Townwhip, Mandalay Region, around 9 am on 27 December.

One of the local security forces said that Tatmadaw is conducting security operations in the area, but did not arrest any villagers. Malicious media cover up the activities of terrorists, fabricating and circulating false information to instil fear in the public and mistake the security forces.
