THE coordination meeting on State-owned cinemas that have been sold to the private sector was held virtually between Ministry of Information Deputy Minister U Ye Tint and cabinet ministers of states and regions at the meeting hall of the Film Promotion Division in the Information and Public Relations Department, which was located on the Kokkine Avenue Road of Bahan Township in Yangon Region at 10 am on 29 July.

Throughout the meeting, the deputy minister exhorted the responsible personnel to urge business owners who were not implementing the construction plan of theatres and running cinema businesses as per the contract of the State owned cinema selling process. Some business owners failed to do so due to their economic difficulties but some are using cinema sites for other business purposes. The deputy minister also called for action to be taken against cinema holders who were not following the rules and regulations of the contract.

Afterwards, regional cabinet ministers discussed matters regarding the condition of operating cinemas on the ground and the deputy minister added necessary things before giving concluding remarks.

In the afternoon, the deputy minister inspected the Aung San Printing Factory, Sarpay Beikman Printing Factory and GTC Printing Factory of the Printing and Publishing Department in Insein Township and instructed officials and staff to work together in unity, exercise close supervision of the printing process, give special consideration to factory safety and ensuring no loss and damage of the equipment and raw materials.
