A TOTAL of 140 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 5,534 oxygen concentrators, 18 tonnes of masks were imported through the Yangon International Airport and land borders yesterday.

The government allows the continuous importation of oxygen, medicines and related materials that are in urgent need for the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities in the country.

Since 12 July, when the COVID-19 outbreak began to rise nationwide, priority is given to the importation of anti-COVID-19 medicines and related equipment. Relevant departmental officials cooperate in facilitating and speeding up the importation during the period designated as public holidays.

As of yesterday, from 12 July, a total of 864 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 63 tonnes of oxygen cylinders, 28,092 oxygen concentrators, 198,575 test kits and 635 tonnes of masks were imported.
