A vehicle carrying 16.02 tonnes of liquid oxygen for Mandalay General Hospital left Myawady Trade Zone at 2 pm yesterday as import processes of the anti-COVID-19 supplies are allowed through the Myawady border in order to assist in the prevention and control of the pandemic.
The Department of Commerce coordinates with the relevant departments to get better import processes at the Myawady trade post, said of ficials.
The import of oxygen concentrators does not require an FDA-approved import licence. And the Myawady Trade Zone allows for a pre-withdrawal fee of 3% duty-free, officials added.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Commerce, 49 million litres of liquid oxygen, 6,505 home oxygen concentrators and 290 tonnes of face masks were imported through border camps from 12 to 18 July.
